Every year for our anniversary we try to go on a trip, we went to Italy for our honeymoon, last year we went to Seattle + Portland which was amazing and also our babymoon. This year I’m so excited to be heading to Maui! Aaron and I both have never been to Hawaii so I’m excited to go exploring and eat all the food. We’ll be taking Emma with us and though I have some anxiety about flying so long with her I know it’ll be a trip of a lifetime. We’re meeting some friends there as well that have a little girl and we’re all SO excited! High on my list is the Black Sand Beach, lots of fresh fish and fruit(obv) and watching the sunrise at Haleakala National Park. Do you have any recommendations for things to do/see/eat? I’d love your help! Extra points if it’s family friendly :)

In the meantime I’m trying to plan what I’ll be packing! Here’s some of my top picks. I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect one piece suit and a nice everyday coverup. These look perfect.

I’m obsessed with that backpack! My friend Jane has it and I’m such a sucker for a good everyday leather piece so I’m excited to use this on our trip. Those sandals are also the comfiest. I have about 4 pairs from Nisolo and they’re some of my favorites. x

Over the weekend we ventured out to Coronado Island for a walk along the beach to watch the sunset. I love living so close to the beach. Coronado is one of our favorite beaches here in San Diego because of how clean and quiet it is. There’s a dog beach on one end that we used to take Molli to all the time and on the other end is Hotel Del Coronado, they usually have an event going on over there or some really cool sand castles. It’s a prime people watching location. ;)

We just got this muslin carseat cover from Bebe au Lait as part of their collab with Sofie la Girafe and I love using it to cover Emma up when we’re out and about. I really like how easy it is to zip up and close and the simple snap-on install!

I am dying over these sunglasses we got for Emma. I was so surprised she actually kept them on for most of the trip out, too!

Also, how cute is this jumpsuit? I’m obsessed. I bought it last year from Madewell right before I got pregnant so I couldn’t wear it that long and now I feel like I have a whole new wardrobe because I can fit into my old clothes again! Super last minute I threw this shirt on from Lou and Grey under it and I think it goes pretty well. Definitely not ideal for breastfeeding so I had to pump before we went out but I’m that much closer to feeling like my normal self again.

When I was growing up I was heavily into sports; karate, volleyball, basketball, softball and even colorguard for a couple years in highschool(shhh). My grandma used to make me let me eat junk food just so I’d gain weight. And because I was so active, I lived with the notion that I’d forever have a fast metabolism. Fast forward 7 years, I’m not playing any sports, my day job consists of sitting for very long periods of time and with my day job and freelancing sometimes it’s very hard to eat healthy throughout the week. This year I’ve made huge leaps in terms of getting healthy and staying active. I’ve stopped going out to lunch as often at work and started bringing salads and made a huge effort to cook at home, even when I don’t feel like it. I have too big of a love for California burritos. But now, I love waking up at 5:30 each morning and hitting the gym for an hour and a half. I hated waking up so early at first but after getting into a routine it’s the perfect way to start my morning by being able to sweat it out and clear my head in preparation for the day. With being active I’ve also developed a love for specific items I need to workout with each time which you can see above.

I’ve been doing more running over the past couple months and have really fallen in love with it. I broke down and purchased some solid running shoes and it was seriously the best investment I could make for my legs/shins/feet. It took a lot of effort for me to give up my 5 year old tennis shoes but so happy I got these. These have definitely allowed me to enjoy my runs and a couple weeks back I conquered what I never thought possible and ran 5 miles. On.a.roll.

Happy Friday! xx

My hair is finally getting past that awkward middle length where it’s in between being super short and getting longer. I’m so anxious for it to get longer! I told Aaron that the next time I say I want to get my hair cut shorter to punch me in the face. ;) February of last year I had that itch to chop off my hair and I did and now all I want is my long hair back. Here’s to hoping it grows inches over night and sometime soon I’ll be able to wear my beloved top knot. Until then I’ll be taking my biotin pills and waiting until the very last minute to get it trimmed.
